History

Three of the founders of Trauma Conference International (TCI) were also founding members of the Arizona Trauma Association (ATA) in 2006 – Drs. David Notrica, Peter Rhee and Chris Salvino.

The three trauma surgeons grew ATA’s regional conference into a worldwide event and hosted it for seven years. The most recent year's conference had over 250 in-person attendees and greater than 1500 attended via simulcast. The simulcast option was a revolutionary idea for surgical conferences and currently ATA’s conference appears to be the largest of its kind in the world.

Drs. Notrica, Rhee and Salvino understood that despite the success of ATA, there was a need for a truly international trauma conference in which everything was shared equally from one world region to another.

To that end, the three doctors recognized that board positions, speakers, location, and even language, should be shared like never before. Simulcast would continue to play an integral part in the way that trauma education is delivered.
